Sergios, patrikios, imperial protospatharios and logothetes of the dromos, 9th century. Seal (Lead, 22 mm, 6.87 g, 12 h). Cruciform monogram KVPIЄ within pearled circle. Circular legend ROHΘЄI TⲰ C[Ⲱ ΔOVΛ]Ⲱ. Rev. +CЄPΓI/Ⲱ ΠATPIK' / R' A'CΠAΘ' S / ΛOΓOΘ, T૪ / ΔPOM૪ in five lines. Cf. Laurent, Corpus II 418. Surface crack along the channel on the obverse and a slight off center strike, otherwise, good very fine.

The department of the dromos was mainly responsible for the road system and the postal service. As logothetes, our seal's owner was at the head of this department.
